RADIO
  • The radio was invented by Guglielmo Marconi (25th April 1874- 20th July 1937). 
  • Marconi was interested in electricity and science, he began to experiment, building many of his own equipment.
  • 13th May 1897, Marconi sent the first ever wireless communication over open sea. 
  • Marconi used telsa oscillator to transmit the signals over the English Channel.
BBC
  • The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was founded on 18th October 1922 by Lord John Reith.
  • It is the largest broadcaster in the world.
  • It's main responsibility is to provide public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom
  • The corporations is guaranteed income from the license fee.
  • The BBC provide services such as; television, online and radio.
  • BBC iPlayer launched in 2007, which allowed viewers to watch their programmes at a later date.
