RADIO
- The radio was invented by Guglielmo Marconi (25th April 1874- 20th July 1937).
- Marconi was interested in electricity and science, he began to experiment, building many of his own equipment.
- 13th May 1897, Marconi sent the first ever wireless communication over open sea.
- Marconi used telsa oscillator to transmit the signals over the English Channel.
BBC
- The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was founded on 18th October 1922 by Lord John Reith.
- It is the largest broadcaster in the world.
- It's main responsibility is to provide public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom
- The corporations is guaranteed income from the license fee.
- The BBC provide services such as; television, online and radio.
- BBC iPlayer launched in 2007, which allowed viewers to watch their programmes at a later date.
